Minutes of last committee meeting of 25th January 2018, approved by C.McGinley, and seconded by Rhidian Jones.

Welcomed, new member to committee, to represent Ayrshire: Alan Kerr, Low Dallars Farm, Hurlford, Ayrshire.

A. Best to approach, Robert Ramsay of Ayr SRUC if he would like to join committee.

Office bearers of Society

No changes suggested. Unanimous approval of current office bearers.

Forage Competition 2018.

  1. The Judge for 2018 was excellent, very thoughtful in his approach to the judging and good company.
  • To encourage more entries, committee members to approach feed representatives in their area for silage entries.
  • Young Farmer class: Ask father to stand back and let the son or daughter to communicate with Judge.
  • Possibility of another class for the silage competition to cover other silage entries that do not fit the current class of Dairy and Beef. AHD plants and BandB operations. It will be at the discretion of the Secretary and Chairman to allocate entries to this class, if necessary.
  • A.Best asked to circulate marks allocated for silages.To enable discussion

Agreed on John Drummond, Townhead, Craigie. Subject to anapproved date approval.

Winter meeting

The choices proposed as Farm Visits as follows.

1st  Sam Carlisle, Nether Dargavel, Dumfies.

2nd  John Paterson, Hartbush, Amisfield

2rd A.Marshall Hardgrove.

Judge for forage competition.

1st Choice.  Sean Williams, Buccleugh Estates. R. Jones will approach.

2nd Choice. Ian Whiteford, Fife

3rd Choice: Rob Shanks, Queenscairn.

Angela Henderson to be asked to provide two year accounts for the above accounts.
